How to save the records as pdf?

In My Visualforce page, I have some picklist fields, Records   only display When i select the picklist fields in page . So, How to save that records as pdf or excel?

As you might know you can display vf page as pdf.
so you need to build logic in javascript where if you select perticular value in piclist, redirect browser to vf page which display record as PDF.
