State & Country picklists on Custom address fields

Has anyone tried to use the state and country picklists on a custom address field?

Thanks Sandhya, I have the standard picklists activated but I have customer fields on three different objects that need state and country picklists as well. So I was wondering if anyone has tried using the new Global picklists for State & Country. Vivian

Hi Viv, you must have resolved this by now. But we used Custom Country/State/Zip/Street/Everything address fields in all our Objects, even Standard Objects like Leads/Accounts, because we were based in a Country with a PO Box centered addressing system and we also managed data worldwide.

What was great about using your own system was that you could use hierarchy picklists using Region/Country/City/Area and really manage the process the way your company needed it done. And now you can add plugins/extentions for Zip/PostCode lookup.
