Can checkbox fields be indexed?

Will create a checkbox/text field, that will be populated using trigger, however will be based on some non-deterministic field checks. Can i index that field then ?

Yes we can create custom indexing for checkbox fields. But please read the below knowledge article before you decide on indexing the field.
