Difference between DataLoader and Import wizard?

Hi,

 

Can any one plz tell me the differences between DataLoader and Import wizard?

Import Wizard :

 

Is designed for less-technical users and smaller, simple imports of up to 50,000 records.

Can only import data of : Account , Contact ,Leads , Solution, and Custom Object.

Data Loader :

 

For complex imports of any size.

Can upload more than 50000 records.

Can import and export data.

Can import data of any object except User.

Data Laoder is the answer.

 

Reason.

 

Import wiziard may not support the case object support.

Data Loader:-
1.You can use more than 50,000 records.
2.You can insert, update,upsert,delete,export the data.
3.It can not be ignored the duplicate records.
4.You can not schedule the data.

Import wizard:-

1.You can use upto 50,000 records.
2.You can delete the records.
3.It can be ignored the duplicate records.
4. You can schedule the data.

Answer is Data Loader.

Import Wizard allows only
a)Accounts and Contacts
b)Leads
c)Solutions
d)Campaign Member Status 
e) And All Custom objects

With a limit of 50,000 records to be imported.

Therefore for the case object data loader is the option whether the records are 30,000 or 3 million.

When you use Import wizard , you need to map fields each and every time you want. if you want to use the same fields again still you need to map. There is no option to save the mapping and reuse, but when you use Data loader you can save the mappings and reuse it.
