samthakur74 Error installing Force.com IDE plugin eclipse indigo
Hello,
I get the following error during plugin installation. I have ensured Eclipse is not under program files. I tried runninf eclispe as administrator.
Can someone tell me exactly what and how does one configure on windows 7 UAC to ensure this problem goes.

I did try to add my login user to administrator group. I also gave all authenticated users modify permissions in eclipse folder

Seems plugin is not compatible with Eclipse indigo, as mentioned here they are officialy listing the plugin till eclipse 3.6. Anyway, I am looking forward to start using Indigo myself so will give this a try and will revert soon.

Thanks. I thought if it works on 3.6 it would on later versions as well
I installed Indigo version of Eclipse and then Force.com plugin using update site, everything is working like charm. I downloaded Eclipse for J2EE developers, for Mac 64 Bit. Which flavor of Indigo are you trying with ?

I have problem in downloading force.com plugin on eclipse Indigo(3.7) for Java developers. I am using Ubuntu Linux 11.04.
The error thrown is following.
"An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

Well, it really seems that is not compatible with indigo, just hoping that the the release is updated to work with indigo too!
Indeed. Would very much like to see Force.com IDE support on Indigo. I tried the install on the Ubuntu 11.10 OS and got an error similar to above.
Anyone have any ideas around when that would be? or if :^)

I'm having same issues and errors. Tried both Indigo then downloading Helios 3.6. Same MD5 errors. They all started when I tried upgrading my existing Eclipse Force.com IDE to v24 and got error. Figured it was my machine so uninstalled to start over. Endless loop of errors since then.
Same issue here tried on both personal machine and work machine.
I'm getting a MD5 Checkum Error on Eclipse Helios.
At home this is a fresh install of the Force.com IDE to an Existing Eclipse install which is working fine for other plugins.
At work I attempted to upgrade from V23 of the Force.com IDE to 24.

Has anyone found the solution for this?
I tried installing the Force.com pulgin for eclipse(helios, ganymede and indigo) but the installation fails everytime.
"MD5 hash is not as expected." is the error I keep getting.
i install eclipse 3.7 few days ago
so i got that error too (MD5)
so i try:
- install JAVA 1.7
- install JAVA 1.6
i do not know exactly what helped but after that and restarting eclipse i installed salesforce IDE plugin successfully

This maybe a bit old, but just in case. To avoid the issue when installing Force.com IDE 25, I've just upgraded my JVM to Oracle JDK 1.7 64bit
Running Ubuntu 11.10
