Hooking up moodle with Salesforce

Hi, new to sales force. We have a requirement in our current lms to let a department of users to take courses using our lms and then update their certification details on salesforce database.

 

1) Is it possible to access user profiles on salesforce using the REST API?

2) How exactly does a typical salesforce database maintain certification details of users?

Hi 

 

You can enable API access on Salesforce by fallowing the instructions below:

 

"API access must be enabled for your user in Salesforce for Cirrus Insight to connect to your Salesforce org.

Your Salesforce administrator controls your profile and permission set. To access the API (to issue calls and receive the call results), your user must be granted the “API Enabled” permission.

Client applications such as Cirrus Insight can query or update only those objects and fields to which they have access via your permission set.

To edit your profile, your admin will need to go to Your Name | Setup | Manage Users | Profiles in the Salesforce user interface. To edit your permission set, your admin will need to go to Your Name | Setup | Manage Users | Permission Sets."

 

You can also use a soql query on the User and/or Profile objects.
