Can we have custom tabs for VisualForce pages?

Hi,

Is it possible to have Custom Tabs for VisualForce pages without associating it through a Custom Object?

It appears that you can create a "Visualforce Tab" that is related directly to your VF page without having it related to any other object in the system.  I went to Setup| Create| Tabs and at the bottom of the page was the option to create a Visualforce Tab.
 
Hope that is what you were looking for.

You can create tab like this.

setup-> App Setup->Tabs->Visualforce Tabs -> New
