Custom email publisher and preview in HTML using a custom email templates

I think I've already checked with most of the email template discussions but really haven't found if this can be done.

 

Scenario:

John is in Service Cloud and is answering a customer through case email. He fills out all the necessary field (From, To, Subject, and Body) and selects a custom HTML/CSS email template.

Now, instead of clicking the button "Send Email", i would create buttons that said "Preview in HTML or "Preview in Text"  so the John can preview all the fields that he filled out into my custom HTML/CSS email template. Preview window with the "Send Button"

 

Reasons:

Branded email templates throughout org

 

Before diving into trying to develop this, can anyone tell me if this can be done or not? My thinking is yes and sounds simple. But i think the part of the action triggerring of the new buttons and possibly calling out the new fields to transfer the info to the custom HTML/CSS email template can somewhat be difficult. And not knowing what other hang ups I will face.

To create an email using your own HTML code:
  1. Click the Campaigns tab.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Select Email.
  4. Depending on your account, either click the "Custom code" link or select the Custom Code template.
  5. Click to edit the name of your email so you can easily recognize it later. ...
  6. Enter the new name for your email and click Save.
  7. Click to edit the email header.
  8. Highlight the placeholder text and type or paste your HTML code.
  9. (Optional) Click Insert to add an image from your Library, a video from your Vimeo account, Personalization, Tracking Pixel tag, or "View as Webpage" link wherever your cursor is located within the code.
  10. Click the “Live Preview” toggle to see what your HTML looks like.
  11. (Optional) Click the warning message to see any issues found in your HTML code. We automatically check your HTML for potential issues that could prevent your email from sending or from displaying the way you intend. 
  12. (Optional) Click Check & Preview to see a preview of your email or send a test version.
  13. Once you’re ready to send the email to your contacts, click Continue.
  14. If any errors that prevent you from sending are found, click Fix my errors to let us resolve them for you. Be sure to preview your email once more before sending to make sure everything displays as intended.
