Excel Connector

For some reason my excel connector for refreshing my reports from excel has disappeared and I can't figure out how t oget it back.  I have uninsalled and reinstalled several times.  All I get is the options to query the db directly which would be fine but I don't have the time to figure out the mess people before me have created.  Anyone have any ideas on how to get the plugin back to refresh reports from?

What are trying to refresh in the reports? Please give more detail.

I had pre configured reports in sfdc and I would just open excel and refresh those reports through a sfoce menu item in excel.  now that option is gone, I can get to the direct query under addins but I don't want to directly query the DB. Does that help?
