how to develop visual force pages like matrix reports

hi iam new to salesforce i want to built a visual force page like a matrix report.how can i do that?
what is the approach any examples please send the links. my page should look like User-added imagefollowing

If your report is not in simple table format and contains grouping and aggregation then you will have to use JQuery or other Javscript code for this.

hi thanks for your reply i dont want aggregates to be done. i just want to group two coloumns.
for ex 
    database                                                     visualforce
Agreement driver period sale                            agreement driver jan    feb  
                                                                                                sale sale
  1               d1     jan      2                                   1           d1      2
  2               d2     feb      3                                     2         d2                3

it should look like that depending on jan i should fill sale
