Enable Inline edit for non editable cells display a lock icon

I have created a formula field. After saving the record I am able to see the formula field with data and I am unable to in line edit from there. I would like to enable inline edit for the fields which display lock icon. Suggest me anyway that I can achieve that.

In formula field which type you seleted.
for example you select formula field from other objects field  its not possible to in line edit of cuurent object . beceause they have some field level securities.
 Formula fields are Read Only.  If you need the field to be edited or overridden and you are on EE or UE you can create a Workflow Rule and a Field Update.
