Creating the Junction Object, missing directions?

Hello there!  I'm stuck on creating an junction object.  After the lesson explains that I must use the auto-number  and clicking save.
However I am prompted that there is an error invalid data in red text.  The fields Display format, and Starting number need to be filled in to proceed.
There are no instructions on what to enter there.
Any ideas?

Can you pls show me what it is asking for.
For eg: If you have auto-number field and format is {0000} then it should start like 0001.

Let me know if it works.
