Permissions didnt move in the change set

Hi All,

I created a new custom field, added it to 4 page layouts and its permission was read/editable by all. When i moved this field from DEV to UAT using change set, only the new field was copied, it was not added in the page layouts and its permissions were not there as well, it was hidden from all profiles. What did I miss here??

Hi Saurabh,

Permissions for custom fields will not be moved via change set. You have to give permissions manually in this type of deployment.

Hi Saurabh Smarty,

After Deploy your custom fields on production. Go to profile and choose your object---->select all fields that's have added recently and grant permission to read and edit.

Hi Saurabh,

We can deploy profile as well as other components. Add profiles in which you have given permission for those fields in dev then deploy it to UAT. but please take care before deploying that other permisssion can not be overwritten in UAT which not present in DEV.

Or you can give permissiona by going to profile.
