To edit your profile name in Trailhead:
1) Log into trailhead.
2) Click on your profile image / name in the top right of Trailhead (shown in the picture below)
3) Click "Profile" from the drop down.
4) Scroll down to the "About Me" section (below the header and all the badges) and click the pencil / edit icon (shown in the picture below)
5) Make the chanes to your first or last name, and click Save.
You should see the update right away in the profile component (at the top right of the page).
