Why doesn't Record Type ID work in Assignment element in Visual Workflow?

A portion of my visual workflow is creating a new account. Since the Account will always be a "Partner" account record type - I hardcoded the record type ID into the Assignment element, but when executing the flow, it assigns the account record to the wrong record type? Any ideas?

Hi Karleeen,

Check this out - https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000k3FBAAY.
Looks like assigning record type through flows doesnt work in Salesforce yet. You could try using a process builder to update the record type post creation.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Karleen

This seems to be working fine. Could you check either of the following:
  • Record Type is assigned to the profile through which you are trying to execute the flow.
  • Pass 18 digit Salesforce Id (you can get the same from RecordType object based on SobjectType). Although it works fine with 15 digit id as well, but just to be sure change the Id to 18 digit one.
Hope this helps.

Cheers!!

Gaurav
