Build a conference management app: Create the app.

Please can anyone tell me what type of app to create, lightening or connected?

Hi Ashish,

First make sure that you are in Salesforce Classic.

If you are at Unit 2 - Create the Application, create a Custom app named "Conference".
Go to Setup > Build > Create > Apps, in the Apps section, click New and Check Custom app and click Next.

If you are at Unit 9 - Use the Salesforce Platform APIs, create a Connected app named "MyConference".
Go to Setup > Build > Create > Apps, in the Connected Apps section, click New and define the Connected App.
