create a new text field in any of the object .dont allow the duplicate and it sholud be a required field ,you sholud achieve this requirement only in customization

Hi Swathy,

You can do this using the unique check while creating the new text field and you can set it as required on the page layout or at the object level depending on your requirement.

Scenario: How about this.

Say the field name is skypeid, you cannot have two people having the same ids. You create a new text field with the unique value checked during the field creation. When a new record is created with the same value which already exists, Salesforce would throw an error saying the value already exists.
