we are using salesfroce connect to use data from odata services. What is difference between files connectand salesforce connect

what is differnce betwwen salesfroce4 connect and files connect .

Salesforce file connect is used to access files or docs from the Google Drive  or share point into the salesforce  .  Under laying we can able to use External Data Sources for file connect also 

External data is mainly used to get the data from the thord party system and show in salesforce with out storing the data into salesforce
