looking for a swift tutorial

I apologize if I have overlooked one here. This salesforce website is great but massive and I don't see a swift walkthrough, I did find this one
https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.mobile_sdk.meta/mobile_sdk/ios_swift_intro.htm#!
and I am glad to see promise kit here but I don't have a grasp of some simple tasks I will need like

1. how do I get all of the records in the tutorial app
2. how can I sort my results
every example I see assumed I already have a user like this:
restApi.Promises.query(soql: "SELECT Id,FirstName,LastName FROM User"
So its those sort of basic concepts I'd like to learn before I start my SalesForce project.
The tutorial that comes with forceios is written in objective C and I'm having trouble following it.
Any help on how to get the basics of Salesforce with swift would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Warren

Oh right... so if I read this right you're more after info on putting together the requests. If that's the case then WorkBench (https://workbench.developerforce.com/login.php) can be your friend (choose production for dev org). With workbench you can explore the REST API and also have it build up SOQL queries.

I'm not sure if these modules will directly help you... but there's some new swift stuff on Trailhead, starting with the language basics and then going through to accessing data through the APIs (I see you have this already, so perhaps the language specific one is more useful).

Hey Todd, Thanks for the reply. That tutorial is just on swift and what I am trying to learn is how to do some basic calls to salesforce like
- get all records from Salesforce.

As far as I can tell so far the website does not walk you though that in swift...

Good suggestion - Thank you! I also found a great resource here
https://medium.com/@mike4aday/swiftly-salesforce-6a9625822fb4
that walks through SalesForce in swift and has an example swift app which I found very helpful. The example app is in this repo as EXAMPLE

I am not too sure about this but I am certain some actions may be needed to make this work.
An example is using tutu app (http://trytutuapp.com) as a case study

Here is a good tutorial about swift - https://topdevs.org/blog/why-use-swift-for-mobile-app-development. I will definitely recommend it!
