Is there any way to differentiate Lightning App and Lightning Console App in terms of coding? just like sforce in classic.

Hi Pramodh
Well, both Lightening App Builder and Lightening Console are different platforms. Lightening Console is completely for Salesforce Developers, as it involves pure coding, while Lightening App builder can be used by Salesforce administrator and developers both, as it is based on drag and drop features. The apps created by both are also quite different, like the apps built by app builder are called Flexi Page and are just one page apps, while those built through coding are known as standalone apps.
You can check the app builder’s apps under flexipage namespace, while the developers console apps are still under “aura” or “force” or “ui”. So you can see that there are differences in Lightening app builder and developer’s console. Actually So far Lightening is in it’s developing phase and many new features can be expected to be launched in nearby future, while some may be deleted as well. So as of now, though both will provide you a Lightening app, but the way in which the apps will be developed will be quite different.
Lightening app builder is just like WYSIWYG and can be used be coder and non-coder both. The rich UI of app builder has limited predefined components, which can be drag and drop on home page to build a Salesforce app, while through developer’s console one can develop the full fledged customized components for their Salesforce app.
