This seems to be a common error with people reusing existing trailhead playgrounds/sandboxes. I would recommend setting up a new playground for each of the big badges like the superbadges. I noticed this doesn't make the error appear when you establish new ones.
David HamburgI started with a new playground and got this, also stood up a 2nd one and it gave an error when geting to teh end of this one, goingto back fill some of the other steps, good practis but still a pain
