Hi All,

While trying this badge even i faced same issue.
workaround is please craete the new trailhead playground org and try enabling Knowledge and complete the requirement and try checking the challenge.

by doing this i have completed the Lightning Experience Rollout Specialist Superbadge.

Weird I am getting a similar error today:

Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
Lightning Knowledge hasn't been turned on.

Even though Lightning KNowledge is clearly turned on.  Seems like this broke today, I have friends who did step 8 yesterday and it worked fine.
Ashish KeshariAshish Keshari
Yes Seems like it is broken. It's not working for me either - whom we can report to ?

Just reported the issue on Twitter to Trailhead handle - let's wait for their response. https://twitter.com/ashishkeshari06/status/909253523598065664

No response at all and this completley blocks progression.  I hope they award extra days for partners to get this done since this is a hard stop.

I passed this challenge a couple of days ago and my friend got through just yesterday, didn't get any such problem.
So i guess their might be something you did wrong in enabling the Knowledge.
Here is the screen shot of the setting, check if you have not checked any box may be.

All the settings are identical.  This is an issue with the Trailhead system being unable to verify that LIghtning Knowledge is enabled.

Create a new box and start over should not be the only way to get passed this.
Ashish KeshariAshish Keshari
Yes I agree with Shane. So much time spent on completing till this point - we cannot afford to start again. Trailhead should look at it. Can you please retweet my tweet https://twitter.com/ashishkeshari06/status/909253523598065664 so that Trailhead looks at it. thanks.

We just investigated one user's org who was reporting this issue, and there were 4 items that he had not done. If you'd like us to look at your orgs @Shane and @Ashish, send an email to trailhead at salesforce.com with your username and password for the org where you've done the challenge, and we can take a look for you. Make sure to mention the name of the superbadge that you're currently working on.

If you don't know your username and password for your Trailhead Playground, follow these steps: https://force.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2659738-find-the-username-and-password-for-your-trailhead-playground?b_id=13478

Just to keep the thread updated - sent my details to Chris and she is looking at it. thanks.

I was able to get past it.  So if you use the Lightning Knowledge wizard type thing in Service Setup in Lightning it will NOT set it up correctly and your step 8 will fail.  You have to set it up in classic for it to work.  I had to spin up a new org and setup Lightning Knowledge in classic then it passed and I could go back to my original org.
Chris DuarteChris Duarte
Thank you @Shane that is very helpful.

@Ashish - did you also use the wizard in Service Setup to turn on Lightning Knowledge?
Shane J. HayesShane J. Hayes
My pleasure.  Had to try a couple things to figure out why it was failing but finally narrowed it down to the Wizard type thing there in Service Setup in Lightning.  I spun up two additional orgs to test and verify and it seems to have been the issue.

Yep. You were exactly right. We are working on the fix now. Again, I am very sorry. This must have been extremely frustrating for you, and I know you all are under deadline to get this done.
Ashish KeshariAshish Keshari
No problems - I was able to pass it using another Org, will move forward with the remaining steps. Thanks a lot for your time @Shane Hayes and @Chris Duarte.
Chris DuarteChris Duarte
OK we have updated the challenge so it will now accept both ways, whether you enable Lightning Knowledge via the wizard in Service Setup or if you enable Lightning Knowledge via Classic. Many thanks to @Ashish and @Shane for their help in diagnosing the issue, and again, my apologies for the issue. I'll delete my earlier post now with the workaround.

Hi,

Thank you @Ashish Keshari @Chris Duarte @Shane Hayes 14, I was able to pass it using another Org.

Hi everyone,
I am facing an issue related to this challenge.
I am unable to create knowledge arcticle types. Can anyone advice on how to create article type.
Basically I am not getting a knowledge article type option only in quick find box.
I am attaching screen shot also.
User-added image
Shane J. HayesShane J. Hayes
@ayan Lightning Knowledge does not use article types, it uses record types.  Make sure you have LIghtning Knowledge enabled then create the required record types on the knowledge object
Ayan MohantyAyan Mohanty
So Shane a quick question...
Then do i need to create 3 new record types FAQ, Product, and Community and 3 page layouts faqpagelayout, productpagelayout, and communitypagelayout associated with each of them accordingly?
Shane J. HayesShane J. Hayes
Ayan that is correct, you will need to create the three record types and three page layouts per the requirements on the challenge.  Make sure you use the exact naming so you don't run into issues with verifying the challenge.  You got this!
Ayan MohantyAyan Mohanty
Thanks Shane got that part.
But I am not able to clearly get the app requirements.
User-added image
I understand i need to create a lightning app, but what all items need to go into the app?
Also a default home page is required but i don't get how to set up the last two requirements for the home page.

Bit confused. Require a little help to understand the requirement and setup the app. :)

Ayan MohantyAyan Mohanty
No issues figured out the requirements and completed the challenge.
Kevin MurrayKevin Murray
Hey Ayan, can you share some of your implementation.  I'm currently getting this error: "Each article record type must contain the Question, Answer, and Record Type fields. Knowledge users must have the ability to select a record type when creating or editing articles."

I don't know why though as this refers to what I thought was the easier part of this challenge - just adding the two custom fields, making three record types, making three page layouts, and mapping the record types to the page layouts.  Is there anything more to it?  Thanks for the help.
Ayan MohantyAyan Mohanty
Kevin, going by what you said I guess thats pretty much it, the only issue might be you must have not added the required fields in the page layout. Add record type, question and answers fields to the layout. You have got this!
Kevin Murray 4Kevin Murray 4
Thanks, you're right!  I actually forgot the fields on one of the layouts.  I swear I checked the layouts a million times and the fieldsd were there but I must have confused myself :).
Shwetha B RShwetha B R
I am facing the problem as that of Kevin's..! How many custom fields am I supposed to create? 3(Question, answer and record type) is it?

Kevin MurrayKevin Murray
Hey Shwetha, make sure all three of the page layouts include all three of the fields (Question, Answer and Record Type).  I got stuck when I missed adding the fields to 1 of the 3 record types.  Once that was fixed then I passed this step.
Shane J. HayesShane J. Hayes
Shwetha, check Kevins response.  If you do not have all the fields on the layouts it will not validate.  Can you confirm you have all the fields on the layout (and of the proper type) and that it still won't pass/validate?
Shwetha B RShwetha B R
Thank you Kevin Murray and Shane J. Hayes for your response.. I had forgotten to add record types to one of the layouts. Now my challenge is completed.
Shane J. HayesShane J. Hayes
My pleasure Shwetha

I'm stuck on this step as well, with the following error:  "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:  "Each article record type must contain the Question, Answer, and Record Type fields. Knowledge users must have the ability to select a record type when creating or editing articles."

I've checked the spelling of the page layouts, and the spelling of the field names.  Each of the three page layouts has each of the three fields on it.

.... and just realized there are four page layouts. Troubleshooting opportunity!

I added the missing field to the Knowledge Layout page layout, and voila -- passed the whole challenge.  Two hours after starting the troubleshooting.

Hi all

I am consistently receiving this error for the knowledge setup challenge.

Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
There was an unexpected error while verifying this challenge. Usually this is due to some pre-existing configuration or code in the challenge Org. We recommend using a new Developer Edition (DE) to check this challenge. If you're using a new DE and seeing this error, please post to the developer forums and reference error id: YYZXASXF

The screenshot is as below.

Has anyone else encountered tis error? I am not able to proceed further with this challenge. I even tried completing this challenge in a new trailhead playground (ofcourse I needed to set up the playgroud from scratch to support the superbadge)

Any help/guidance on this error would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

I have deleted a knowledge record type and I got the appropiate message so it must be stuck checking either the Lightning App or the Home Page. I deleted these as well but I'm still getting the same error.

Thanks for the help.

Hello there @Goutam @Emilie @Gaurang @gmodica @Harald @Divya and everyone else reporting an issue dating from February 2018 to the date of this comment. There is an issue related to the Spring '18 update that was unfortunately not detected in testing the superbadge for Spring '18 readiness. It is being resolved in a fix today. Please hold off on the superbadge until the fix is live. I'll reply to this thread once I hear the fix is live. My apologies to all for the trouble.

Thanks @Chris Duarte - For your response. Unfortunately , I need to get the Superbadge completed by today before 5pm EST. Any chance to get the resolution today?

Create custom text fields called Question and Answer. The Answer field must allow reps to include images and format text that they enter.

As far as I can see the two objects are there and they are working. However I cannot add an image in Chrome, but in Microsoft Edge it is going fine. Please help!

Hi all,
I am facing with this issue, but error is as follows.

Each article record type must contain the Question, Answer, and Record Type fields. Knowledge users must have the ability to select a record type when creating or editing articles.

Any idea to clear this step?

I change new playground, dev org etc. but didn't solved.

I am facing this same issue "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:

I have cleared this issue only after creating a new playground.
The challenge needed to complete requirements only for Knowledge articles like fields, record types with pages layouts then Lightning Knowledge (lightning app), and its Home page.

Note: For the rest of the remaining challenges of the super badge please change the playground back to the previous one.

In order to actually get to the detailed Knowledge Settings, you have to press the 'Enable Lighning Knowledge' button which comes up with a 'this is not reversible etc' warning.  Then once enabled, there is a checkbox 'Enable Lightning Knowledge', and it's not set!

So it is reversible after all? I don't know, a bit confusing. I did not notice it initially & later had to toggle this switch.
Joe WehrJoe Wehr
Confirming the recent reports that using the Service Cloud "Wizard" makes it impossible to complete the challenge. I had to create a new org and use the standard Setup approach to pass the first check.
