Lightning Rollout Specialist Superbadge Challenge 7: Unhandled exception BAD_REQUEST

Looks like Challenge 7 is not working for me.. I tried with 2 separated Playgrounds from the scratch and it still fails with weird error, even though I think I've done everything right. I have no idea what else I should try.

Error message:
There was an unhandled exception. Please reference ID: GFXKWRGA. Error: Faraday::ClientError. Message: BAD_REQUEST: Specify a valid value for the source parameter.

Ok, I figured it out - just create brand new trailhead playground, just for this challange. Looks like the issue is somehow connected to the fact that it changed to Winter 18 editon. If you create new playground that is already W'18 it should be ok.

Try creating the reports and dashboards in Lightning Experience and not in Classic.

The same here and I did all in lightning!

HI @luca pagnotta, did you have to use a different playground?
Luca PagnottaLuca Pagnotta

Hi @Aneske,
yes I created a new playground just for this challenge: if you use an already existing playground you'll get  an unhandled exception.

There was an unhandled exception. Please reference ID: BVNNTIDZ. Error: Faraday::ClientError. Message: BAD_REQUEST: Specify a valid value for the source parameter.

I tried creating a new playground and developer org as well, but no luck.

Error: Faraday::ClientError. Message: BAD_REQUEST: Specify a valid value for the source parameter.

I get this with any org I try as well.  If I start a new playground I check it and it says at first, no report found.  I think this is a good sign and start in on doing what is needed only for this challenge.  Create the report and dashboard and folders for each, but I do nothing with installing the package and playing with adding the chart to the lightning page.  When I check I get the bad request error.

How would we check the ID referenced?  I have to assume this is a TH issue and not something we are doing wrong.  Please help us out if you know whats doing.  Anyone :)

If those that are getting around the issue with starting a new playground or dev org, could you please provide a play by play on what steps you are doing/taking to get the green light?

Agree. "Error: Faraday::ClientError. Message: BAD_REQUEST: Specify a valid value for the source parameter." The error is so frustating. I spent more than 6 hrs trying to troubleshoot this issue. And I haven't switched to classic to do anything. Looks like it's specific to Trailhead. Anyone listening @Trailhead ?

Hi @Bartosz Dec
I have created brand new Trailhead PlayGround and checked with it, but still I m getting this Error! Any Other Solution?

Unfortunatelly, I have nothing more - what I did was just to create new playground, install unmaganed package and compleate the challange. With new playground I only got challange-related errors, nothing trailhead/environmental like this.

I tried to submit feedback to Trailhead on this but the ignored me. Does anyone know a way to reach them, other than 'submit feedback' button?

Same issue here. Tried with a new playground and new dev org just for this challenge with no luck.
Please Salesforce fix this...

Yeah. Even I am getting this error on Challenge 7. Niether a new Trailhead Playground nor a new developer org helped. It is very frustrating as I am stuck here. The error details are so wague that no one can make anything out of it. Also till you have not created the report, it gives proper error that it could not find the Opportunity Pipeline report. However the moment you create the report and try checking the challenge, it starts throwing this weird error. Some people i discussed with mentioned that this could be due to winter 18 Release happening over weekends. But this clearly seems to a Salesforce issue. Hope they see this post and resolves the issue.

There was a deprecated API endpoint as part of the Winter '18 release that caused this particular challenge check to fail. Different users were impacted at different times, as orgs were updated to Winter '18 over the past few weeks. So those of you who were able to "get past it" were likely on an older, non-Winter '18 org. As of today, all orgs are now on Winter '18, so we can now issue the fix that will resolve the issue for all users. We're in the process of releasing today. I'll update again once the fix is live. My apologies for the trouble.

OK fix was just applied in production. Please check your challenges again.

I just emailed to trailhead and they acknowledged the issue and said that this is due to a deprecated API in winter 18 release and fix will be applied today. And then got naother response that fix is applied to production orgs. I rechecked and my challenge is complete. Never got such an immediate response from SF. Wow :)
