issue opening links when logged out since implementing single sign on?

We are testing single sign on.  We have email alerts that go out that have a link to a record in Salesforce.  I have found out that if a user is not logged into Salesforce, either by SSO or normal login.salesforce.com, then the wepage throws an unhandled expection.  Is there something that needs configured on the SSO config page in Salesforce?

Hi,

Please check with below link which might help you to accelerate further with above issue. May I also suggest you please raise a case with salesforce support team which might help.

You may reach salesforce support here: Thanks,

Yes I’ve looked at this document but I don’t see anything in particular pertaining to logging in when a link is clicked. I have used it, to establish a logout link. I also raised a case with Salesforce and they told me to look here at the developer forums. They said they could not help me.
