Drop Down List with Hovers for better explanation to end users

Hello,

I am an SFDC Admin and I know you smarty Developers can help me out.
I have been asked to have the Case Type (Dropdown) also have a hover to show what the Case Type should be used for.

Example:
Case Type              What we would use it for
Active/Inactive         Am I active/inactive (aka med spans), member calling to check their current coverage status
Application              Calling to apply for Medicaid
Benefits - Medical   Calling about medical benefits, SID, copays, is a service/DME/procedure covered/requires PAR?

Thanks.

Hi Jeanette,

Natively, it isn't possible to do that. You will have to create a custom coded solution in order to accomplish your requirement which in my opinion, would be an overkill in this case.
I would highly recommend using the Help Text attribute of the picklist field to let users know what each picklist menu item means. It is something conveniently simple and effecttive as well. You will have to access the field by navigating to the Program object's setup and then editing the field to add the help text as per your requirement.
Please mark as a best answer if helped.

Hi,

There is also the translations ... in the same language (english). Not suitable for long text.

It is a workaround like the Help Text.

The saved value is "Electrical" and not "Electrical - for electrical use"
