If I give App builder transition exam, will I still have to give the DEV401 maintainance exam whose last date is 28th October?

I have got mail saying 28th October is last date for maintainance exam of DEV401 cert. If I give App builder exam before that would I still have to give anny maintainance exam? Also, do I have to give maintainance exams for App builder certs also and how frequently?

Hi SARANG DESHPANDE,

Three times a year (winter, spring, and summer), Salesforce releases new system feature updates.  In accordance with these updates, all certified professionals are required to maintain their certification by taking a maintenance exam every release cycle.
