I ran into the same error message "The Field Sales User Profile does not have the correct permissions for managing list views, creating and managing reports, or creating and managing report folders". I got really annoyed and was searching intensely for over an hour, tried all sorts of combos.

Here is what did it for me:

Field Sales User Profile:
Create and Customize Dashboards     - true
Create and Customize List Views     - true
Create and Customize Reports    - true
Edit My Report - true
Manage Public List Views – false

Also, be sure to use Prashant’s Sales Executive Setting:
Sales Executive User Profile:
Create and Customize Dashboards     - true
Create and Customize List Views     - true
Create and Customize Reports    - true
Manage Public List Views     - false
Manage Reports in Public Folders     - false
Manage Dashboards in Public Folders     - false
