Lightning sync for google (beta)

Hello,

has anyone tried to implement Lightning sync for google (beta) as presented in winter release?
I did using the instructions posted in SF help:
https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=lightning_sync_admin_google_prep_google.htm&type=0&language=en_US
but when I reach this step:
Authorize read-only calendar scope for the service account by entering the service account Client ID (also known as Client name) you generated in Google API Console. Enter the scope:https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly
I get an error message saying "the client name has not been registered with google yet"
Can anybody help? Is there maybe a video or tutorial available showing how to do this sync step by step? Thanks, claire

Hi,

Please refer below link on how to fix this error.

Hope this helps you!

If this helps you please mark it as solved.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks Sandhya, I have tested option 1 and still have the message. for option 2: I am not able to find the "manage oauth key and secret for this domanin" option. When I am in the admin console and go to"security", advanced settings, I only have the option "manage access to api client" Any idea how I can solve this? thanks, claire

I managed to get it working by very carefully following the instructions, and lots of reading between the lines, and hunting around the screens for obscure links to click...
BUT - it does not sync from Salesforce to Google. In my view, that makes it completely useless.
I want to use Salesforce to manage my tasks and events, but if those events don't sync to Google Calendar (and thus to my iPhone) they may as well not exist:(
