Hi buggs sfdc ,
I dont think there is a need of migrating existing salesforce classic community to salesforce lightning because same community you can use in Lightning .

Steps to Create New community in Lightning:

Click on Setup Home
Search for Community
In Community Settings ->  Enable community if not already enabled.
Go to all Communities
Click on New Community.
Rest is same as in classic to Create the Community.

Hi  buggs sfdc,

If its existing community then enable lightnening (under setup 1st option is Lightening) in your org, add the user to the Lightning experience.

After then open community page and select manage, see below image.

then go to Administrator > Setting and hit Change Template button, then you will be redirected to a page where you will see prebuilt lightening themes Aloha,Napili, Koa, Kokua.  you can select one.

To create Lightening community you have to click on Builder option, next to manage link

It will open the interface for Lightning community builder for you, there have to go and create pages and add standard and exiting component to pages.
