Options for CPQ Quote Line Group automation

What options are there for automating field updates and validations on the Quote Line Groups in CPQ?  I can create standard Salesforce triggers, flows, processes and validations, but none of those take effect until you hit save in the quote line editor.  Are there any out-of-the box options for (like price rules or product rules) for automating quote line groups that will work in the quote line editor?
