Remove checkboxes column from related list

Hi,
I want to remove the checkboxes column from the related lists for a custom object. I work on salesforce lightning.
The object does not have a custom list button so I cannot use that option to uncheck the 'Display Checkboxes' option as well. What else can I do to remove these checkboxes ?

I have a custom object , and the related records are shown in the related lists on the page. 
I want to remove these checkboxes column from the related list as highlighted below.

One solution I could find was to disable the inline edit, but I do not want to do that.
