need an alternative as our Opportunity object ran out of Look up fields(40)

I have an issue, my Opportunity object ran out of Look up fields(40) and around 11 of them are on User object and 8 each on Account and contact. Can you please help in finding some alternatives or any solutions in this regard.

Hi Rakesh,

40 is a hard limit of 'Custom Relationship Fields' on the object.

You can try using existing lookup fields and if you cannot use them,  then you might need to refactor or clean up and delete unwanted lookup fields by merging into existing lookups.

Thanks Vinay. Definately cleaning is one of the options. Just looking for some workaround options As we can clear some few look-ups and we would need more in future.

Hi Rakesh,

You can increase the number of 'lookup' fields allowed per object from 40 to 50.  But you need to reach out to your Account Executive (AE).
