No Apex class named 'DemoController' was found

While going through "Apex web services" in the badge :Apex integration services" i was getting error :"No Apex class named 'DemoController' was found".
Though it got resolved by just creating and saving an empty Apex class "DemoController" i have no clue why this error came at first place,as there were nothing mention about any class naming "DemoController" in the challenge.
WHy ! wHy! whY!!!!!??????
