How to auto populate the field value

Hey Folks,
Please advice.

I have two objects with master detailed relationship. Contact and its plans.

I have custom field on contact where i have to populate its value as YES if "XYZ" plan is listed for that contact else as "NO"

Please assist the effective way to achieve this.

Hi,

You can create  a process builder on plan(child) object and update contatct(parent) field.

Hi Mukesh, I want value to populate automatically. (not when created or edited)

For instance, as a call center rep, i get call , I will open that contact , when i see detiled page, this field should be populated automatically.  (I dont think we have any event to trigger)
