For data import to any object in salesforce will allow only CSV formatt.

HI Vasu,

As far as I understand your question. One would not be able to upload files with the following extensions or formats.. 

.htm, .html, .htt, .htx, .mhtm, .mhtml, .shtm, .shtml, .acgi, .svg.

The reason seems to be some security setting which is enabled on the org.
