while creation of opportunity you will select account then what is the issue here.?

i want to update the tracking number field and when that happens the account,Id field inalso gets updated with a string that i decide.The trigger must be in the opportunity object.

As per my understanding, you have tracking number field on Opportunity object .
And whenever you update the tracking number field on opportunity then same field should be updated in the account record. 

Am i correct?
