Issues with creating new record in Salesforce mobile app

I have 2 custom objects that have a lookup relationship (think Account/Contact). When I create a new Contact record, I am able to enter a pre-existing Account in the lookup Account field OR click the "+ New Account" option if the Account doesn't already exist. This allows me to create a new Account record while I'm creating a new Contact record. 

I am unable to do this in Salesforce Mobile. If the Account doesn't already exist, I have no option of creating a new Account from the new Contact record page. I would have to go to the Account object separately and create a new Account record; then it will allow me to enter a pre-existing Account name into the lookup Account field. How do I solve this?

Hi Julia,

I have tried the same scenario and I found that even I was facing the same experience.

I have further searched and found the below article:

As mentioned in the above article "You can’t create a record from a lookup field like you can in Lightning Experience."

This means that it is Working as Designed and I found the below idea to which you can upvote so that the Product team might consider this feature if it is found useful and if it reached the threshold.

To be available in the Salesforce mobile app (https://alightmotionapk.co/mod/" target="_self), an object must have a tab that you can access. This is true for supported standard objects and your org’s custom and external objects. The Salesforce mobile app doesn’t support the User object or provide access to user record detail pages.
