SFDC Expiring Certificate Notification Impact

I started getting SDFC Expiring Certificate Notification. I would like to know what this Certificate is used for. I had never activated it from my side. What will be the impact if I create a new Self-signed certificate and disable the current one.

Hi,

Self-signed certificates are commonly used for Single Sign-On settings (in 'Request Signing Certificate' or 'Assertion Decryption Certificate' field) or callouts to external sites (for client authentication). If you do not renew it might impact your org Single Sign On or another connection (perhaps integration) to another system.

Please review below link for more information on Certification expire soon error.

Hi Vinay,

Thanks for your response. Would like to know if I can create a new Self Signed certificate and disable the current one which is due for expiry ? Also I do not have any "Del" link beside the certificate due for Expiry. What is the process to renew it ?

Thanks,
Faiyyaz

Hi @
System Administrator 984

Please check the article https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000329338&type=1&mode=1
However there is no impact in cas eu have generated the certificate for testing or any other purpose. However if u are using integration , Do create a new certifcate and repace the previous one.Above article include all the step.

Once the new certifcate is create you can share the same with your partner using the same in case any. Also for identity provider setting click on edit and in picklist choose the new one.

Self sign certificate you can create any time .

Hope above information was helpful.
