How to reference personEmail field from a formula field on contact record

I'm attempting to reference the PersonEmail field (on Person Account) from a formulae field on the Contact record. When attempting to reference the field, if I use the Insert field button to find the field I can navigate as follows:
Contact > Account > Person Account > 
But then cannot find the PersonEmail field.

PersonEmail is the Email field on Contact. So in your formula use the email field.

I had never actually realised that as never access it that fway - but checked and agree with you.  Many thanks for your help.
