survey Submission to custom object

Hi Salesforce Friends,

I am new to Salesforce. I created my org not to long ago. I'm looking for guidence and Advice on a project I'm working on. I've created a survey with a bunch of questions, and I've also created a custom object with fields related to those questions. I want to create a flow that will trigger as soon as a new survey response is created. The flow will then create a new record in my custom object based on the survey responses. One record type will be selected based on a response.

I'm not sure how to tackle this in the flow canvas. Even though I started the org not to long ago, I've been learning Salesforce for a few weeks. I'm still a beginner :). I'm hoping someone can provide me with some guidance on how to complete this flow. Which Elements should go first, etc.

Thanks, Everyone!

Hi Jaden,

Here's a step-by-step guide to achieve this:
Step 1: Create a Flow
Log in to your Salesforce account.
Go to Setup by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
In the Quick Find box, type "Flow" and select "Flows."
Click the "New Flow" button to create a new flow.

Step 2: Set Flow Trigger
Drag and drop the "Record-Triggered Flow" element onto the canvas.
Select the object where you're capturing survey responses (e.g., "Survey Response" object) as the object for the trigger.
Define the criteria for when the flow should be triggered. This could be when a new record is created.

Step 3: Decision Element for Record Type
Add a "Decision" element to the flow.
Set up the decision criteria based on the survey response data. For example, you can check a specific survey response field to determine the appropriate record type.

Step 4: Get Record Type Id
Use "Get Records" Element to get the Id of appropriate record type for your custom object.

Step 5: Create New Record
Drag and drop a "Create Records" element into the flow.
Set the object to your custom object (where you want to create the new record).
Configure the field values based on the survey response data and use the Id of Record Type from Step 4 for the RecordTypeId field.

Step 6: Save and Activate Flow
After configuring the flow, save it with an appropriate name and description.
Activate the flow to make it ready for execution.

If this solution helps, please mark the answer as best.
Thank you

Hey there!

Impressive work on creating your Salesforce org and starting your project. To automate the process, you can create a flow triggered by new survey responses.

Here's a suggested flow:

Start with a "loklok (https://loklokapk.download/)" element.
Use a "Get Records" element to fetch survey response details.
Create a new record in your custom object using the "Create Records" element.
Use a decision element to determine the record type based on a response.
Save and activate your flow.
Great job as a beginner in Salesforce! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. Keep up the fantastic work!

Great job on your survey submission to custom object! I noticed your mention of edi document numbers (https://ihateedi.com/edi-codes/).It's crucial to have accurate EDI document numbers for streamlined data exchange and efficient business operations. Keep up the great work!
