The limit for IDEWorkspace has been exceeded. The value of 6 has exceeded the maximum limit of 5.

I'm trying to organise my work in the developer console creating multiple workspaces to avoid open file cluttering. However, it seems I hit a limit of 5 workspaces. Seriously? 

Any idea if this is really a limit or if there is something odd going on?

After lengthy talk with Salesforce support, this is a limit and Salesforce is not going to invest further time into the current developer console.

So basically one must use Visual Code.
