AccountShare deleting

I'm trying to delete records from the AccountShare table using the Dataloader.

I've extracted and selected the records that I want using MS Access (like I do almost daily), but when I try to run the delete I get the error that the 'id does not exist.'

Is there something special that you have to do when deleting records from the Account Share table? How else can I delete these records?

Thanks

You can only delete manual and team shares.  The implicit shares (owner, sharing, territory management, etc), cannot be deleted directly, you have to delete the rules that created those

Thanks. I figured it out via the support line. Not only do you have to delete the old rule in your "Sharing Settings," section, but also you need to make sure you hit the "Recalculate" button. If you don't recalculate, the rule will stay even though it's not listed. It doesn't automatically recalculate.
