Yes that does work. Based on a better understanding of the problem, I will restate my question: Why don't s-controls show up on the page you get when you click the New button? Other layout changes do show up, but not s-controls.
Ah, gotcha. Since the New button brings up the object layout in edit mode, scontrols are removed. Scontrols are executed only when a detail page is loaded.
Is there a way we can play with layout of this page? Suppose if we had a requirement to not show CANCEL button to a User.
Because, if we were required to change anything in NEW or EDIT layouts of an object, the entire page has to be re-written using a Visualforce page. Is this understanding right?
- Go to Setup -> [App Setup] Create -> Objects
- Click on the name of the custom object you wish to alter
- Scroll down toward the bottom of the page, you will see the Page Layouts section
- Click Edit on the page layout of your choice
Hopefully this helps!Hi,
