I would like to change a lead status from Uncontacted to Contacted when a mass email is sent, but I cannot find a way to get notified when a mass email is sent.
I see in the apex documentation that database triggers do not fire when mass emails are sent so the fact a record is inserted in the activity table doesn’t seem to be an answer.
There is a “LastActivityDate” in the lead, but, the mass email does not seem to fire a workflow rule based on that field. I’m not sure why but suppose it is for the same reason that database triggers don’t fire or because it is a sort of “virtual” field that isn’t really being updated when the new activity is inserted.
Does anyone have an idea on how I can cause something to happen when a mass email is sent?
