Reg custom field in events

hi click on setup->Customize->Activities->Activity Custom Fields-> While creating fields i do not get lookup data type. Can someone help me out please

Exact. Lookup field type isn't available on activity records.

What are you looking to do ?

You can "enable" activities on any custom object, which gives you the ability to associate an activity record with a custom object record (Optional features -> Allow activities).
