Perhaps best way is to create package and include the object and tab definition, and then upload it to appexchange before doing the refresh. Then you can restore it after the refresh is complete.
I package the custom objects and this packages up all the fields the trigger, validation rules, apex classes reference. These fields are also the fields on the standard objects,
When I or somebody else brings this package down to another salesforce instance, would the standard objects fields we overwritten? What is the effect on existing data? I could not find documentation on this
there is application named "apsona for salesforce" which export the whole custom or standard object not the data... if u need to export only data it can also be done by this application very easily...
all u need u should have a salesforce account beacuse i does not works on developer force i mean it is not a applicaiton for developer edition.....
