Problem during "Send an Email" with attachment

Hello all,

If am attaching any file without any extension during "Send an Email" it's convert that file to .dat extension after sending mail means user will receive file with .dat extention.

Pls. help me out.

That could just be a function of your email server.  Try it with Gmail or something to see what happens there.

i'm not using any email server. I'm talking about salesfore "Send an Email" functionality in contact object.

For regenerating this issue, click "Send an Email" button in Contacts object and then attached any file without extension and send to you. then you will get mail with .dat extension.

My point is that your inbound email server, the server that is receiving the email, may be causing the issue.
