Account Management - Formulas
We use very little custom objects and use the Professional Edition practically right out of the box. How would I go about adding a field at the Account level which gives me a count of how many opportunities and events have occured related to the Account?
I am very new to Salesforce and would really appreciate your help.

You cannot create a rollup field for Tasks or Opportunities on the Account. For further clarification I suggest you look at the Help & Training within salesforce for this topic as I believe they do a good job explaining what can and cannot be done in rollups.
I don't know if this sort of rollup field will ever be made available but another solution would be to create a couple of reports with these Task and Opportunity counts on them and link to those directly from your Account page using the custom links section of the page.
