Restrict access to certain Opportunities

Hi all;

Is there a way for an administrator to prevent a user from accessing certain opportunities(not all opportunities). It means the user could access only the opportunities that the administrator has allowed.

hi,

you can use manual sharing for this purpose... also, if your user can consistantly be part of a group in this scenario, you can create sharing rules as well...

Thanks,

Anoop

Hello,

There are several options here but they all have to do with sharing. You can set you org wide default sharing setting for opportunities to private. This means only the record owner can see it. You can then add sharing rules around role and roles and subordinates. You can also share by public groups, all internal users share with all internal users. You can create a custom public group and leave this user out of it. Then set up a sharing rule that says the custom group shares with the custom group. You can then manually share opportunities with this user in a case by case basis. These are just a few examples.
