Use of connection.js and apex.js in visualforce page is valid?

Hello All,

 

As new Scontrol is no longer supported in development.

Is there any risk to use of connection.js and  apex.js in visualforce pages?

 

Just want an expert thought and discussion on this.

I can't speak for salesforce engineering,  but I would say the risks are pretty low.  There are thousands and thousands of customers who use S-Controls in their instances and I think it highly unlikely that the company would disable the js libraries while live customers are making use of them.

 

Now whether one _should_ use them...that's anothe question.
